SAN DIEGO TRANSPORT

San Diego Transportation - For getting around San Diego there are a variety of means of transportation. You can take a bus, trolley bus, taxi and shuttles. If you wish, you can even take a limousine but these have to be prebooked.. There are various tours available to see all the sights, too, which is a wonderful and enjoyable way to see San Diego (see the Tours section of this Guide). If you wish to venture out on your own there are a variety of rental car agencies, too. Go to other sections of the Guide for info on Sightseeing, Museums, etc.

Travel Guide

There is the San Diego Trolley and the Coaster, which are both good ways to get around the city of San Diego. There are longer time schedules on Friday nights to attend to fun that visitors and locals like to have. Both of these means of transportation have minimal fares.

Coaster
This light rail brings you from Oceanside to San Diego, Sorrento Valley, Old Town etc. It is a smooth comfortable ride and for more information telephone 1-800-coaster that is 1-800-262-7837. Fares are from around $4 to $6 with reductions for seniors.

Trolley Buses
Neither the Trolley nor the Coaster services stop at the airport. The trolley does go to such places as the Old Town, Mission Valley, Fashion Valley and so on. There are Red, Blue and Orange Trolley lines. There is also a Trolley service to the Aztecs and Chargers football games at Qualcomm Stadium and to the Concerts at SDSU. A single Trolley ticket costs from $1.50 to about $4 depending on the distance you go.

Buses
There are many bus routes that connect up all parts of San Diego. BREEZE buses and ordinary buses tranport you around.

Tickets
You can get a one day Tripper ticket for about $6 or a two day, or three day or four day but they must be consecutive days. A Four day Tripper is about $16. These Tripper tickets are good for all MTS bus and trolley routes as well as BREEZE buses and FAST but they don’t cover the Coaster train (you have to pay an upgrade).

You’ll love San Diego and will find getting around the area rather simple. See as much as you can whichever way you plan to see it.
